From Oscar-winning director Clint Eastwood (“American Sniper,” “Million Dollar Baby”) comes Warner Bros. Pictures’ drama “Sully,” starring Oscar winner Tom Hanks (“Bridge of Spies,” “Forrest Gump”) as Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger.

On January 15, 2009, the world witnessed the “Miracle on the Hudson” when Captain “Sully” Sullenberger glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and his career.

“Sully” also stars Aaron Eckhart (“Olympus Has Fallen,” “The Dark Knight”) as Sully’s co-pilot, Jeff Skiles, and Oscar nominee Laura Linney (“The Savages,” “Kinsey,” Showtime’s “The Big C”) as Sully’s wife, Lorraine Sullenberger.

Eastwood is directing the film from a screenplay by Todd Komarnicki, based on the book Highest Duty by Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow. The project is being produced by Eastwood, Frank Marshall, Allyn Stewart and Tim Moore, with Kipp Nelson and Bruce Berman serving as executive producers.

The film reunites Eastwood with several of his longtime collaborators, who most recently worked with the director on the worldwide hit “American Sniper”: director of photography Tom Stern and production designer James J. Murakami, who were both Oscar-nominated for their work on “The Changeling”; costume designer Deborah Hopper; and editor Blu Murray.

Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, a Flashlight Films production, a Kennedy/Marshall Company production, a Malpaso production, “Sully.” The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Only weeks before the Philippine presidential election, Ferdinand Marcos Jnr remains the front-runner ahead of his main rival Leni Robredo in polls of voters who will cast ballots in the May 9, 2022 contest. Known by his childhood nickname “Bongbong”, Marcos is the son of late dictator Ferdinand Marcos, who during his martial law regime tortured and murdered thousands of Filipinos. Critics accuse candidate Marcos of using social media and misinformation to target young voters, many of whom have no memory of life under his father’s rule. While Leni Robredo, the current vice-president, is riding a recent wave of popularity, the latest surveys from March show Marcos Jnr continues to lead in opinion polls despite falling from 60 per cent to 56 per cent. Robredo’s support in the survey improved slightly from 15 per cent to 24 per cent.

President-elect Trump on Monday reiterated his suggestion that Canada should become the 51st U.S. state, just hours after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his plan to resign.

"Many people in Canada LOVE being the 51st State. The United States can no longer suffer the massive Trade Deficits and Subsidies that Canada needs to stay afloat. Justin Trudeau knew this, and resigned," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trudeau announced that he will resign as prime minister and as the leader of Canada’s Liberal Party. Trudeau, who has led Canada for nearly a decade, has been grappling for months with significant drops in his approval ratings over mounting frustration relating to issues like the soaring cost of living and rising inflation.

Concerned for the safety of her family, Kate tries to get John and others to see past Esthers sweet facade. But her warnings go unheeded until it may be too latefor everyone.

Orphan is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (House of Wax), from a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson and a story by Alex Mace. The film stars Vera Farmiga (The Departed), Peter Sarsgaard (Elegy), Isabelle Fuhrman (Hounddog), CCH Pounder (TVs The Shield) and Jimmy Bennett (Star Trek).

The recently junked disqualification petition against the presidential bid of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. can still be appealed all the way to the Supreme Court, retired Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio said.
